Casinha de Bonecas :: Doll House

Há uns tempos atrás e depois de ver uma casa de madeira forrada com papel, decidi que tinha de ser possível fazer uma casinha de bonecas a partir de cartão. Passei dias e noites a fazer cálculos mentais antes de meter mãos à obra mas a verdade é que lá saiu!

A while back and after seeing a doll house covered with scrapbook paper, I decided that it had to be possible to build a house out of cardboard. I spent days and nights doing measurements in my head before I actually started working but the truth is that finally I made it!

Depois de construída e solidificada a base, chega a difícil tarefa de forrar o exterior (com tela e tecido para ser mais resistente), forrar o interior, fazer os pisos e dividir cada um deles nos diferentes quartos.

After building and making the base strong, comes the hard task of lining the exterior (with fabric and book cloth) and the interior, making the different levels of the house anb dividing them in rooms.

A casa pronta! Todas as divisões forradas e prontas a serem mobiladas e decoradas. Acabei por usar os restos de papel que tinham sobrado da aula que dei na 512 Ideias em que fizemos esta casa mas acho que por isso mesmo a casa ficou ainda mais especial!

The house finished! All the rooms were lined with scrapbook paper and are now ready to be furnished and decorated. I ended upo using a lot of scraps that were left overs from the class I gave about this at 512 ideias but I feel that only made the doll gouse even more special!

Não resisti à tentação e já comprei, em segunda mão claro, algumas mobílias para a casinha! Já temos armários na cozinha, cadeiras na sala e a caminho vêm as mobílias do quarto de bebé. E claro como a Marie Therese me ofereceu um lindo serviço de chá, tenho mesmo de arranjar uma mesa! Prometo mostrar a mobília em breve!

I could not resist and have bought some furniture for the house,used one of course! So far we have kitchen cabinets, chairs on the living room and on it's way are the crib and such for the baby room. And since my friend Marie Therese gave me this beautiful china tea set, I really need to buy a table for it! I promise to show the furniture soon! 

Ser uma aluna novamente

No início de Setembro inscrevi-me para fazer um e-course chamado Blogging your way, concebido pela Holly Becker entre outras. Agora que o curso começou, com franqueza numa altura em que não sei bem para onde me virar com tanto trabalho e uma bebé pequenina em casa (já para não falar dos 3 rapazes e marido que requerem mimos constantes), sinto-me como se estivesse na escola outra vez. Todos os dias espero por novidades, estudo um pouco, faço os trabalhos de casa!

In the beginning of September I registered to attend an e-course called Blogging your way, designed by Holly Becker and others. Now that the classes have began, honestly at a time where I don't know where to turn too with so much work and a small baby girl at home (not to mention my 3 boys and husband that require constant attention), I feel like I am back at school again. Every day I wait for the new posts, do a little study and also homework!

Mas já nos tempos da escola gostava de cadernos bonitos, na altura recheados com os autocolantes e padrões típicos da época. Por isso e seguindo a sugestão da "professora" de ter um caderno para apontamentos, decidi fazer este lindo caderninho e um dossier a combinar para arquivar cada aula. Este tecido da Greengate é um dos meus preferidos, logo a seguir ao vermelho que usei na clutch. Agora é mãos à obra e muito estudo até meados de Novembro!

But also back in my school days I liked pretty notebooks, at the time filled with stickers and patterns typical from those days. So and following the "teacher" suggestion of having a notebook to write my ideas down, I decided to make this pretty notebook and a binder to match so I can file each class guidelines. This fabric is from Greengate and it is one of my favorites, right after the red one I used for the clutch. Now it is time to work and study until the middle of November!

Domingo muito produtivo

Depois de bem cedinho pela manhã ter realizado as tradicionais tarefas domésticas de domingo, consegui ter tempo para fazer um pouco de encadernação e cartonagem cá em casa. Ainda me parece mentira que entre ida ao supermercado, padaria e farmácia, fazer almoço e jantar e ainda tratar da Leonor e dar-lhe muitos miminhos, tenha conseguido fazer tanta coisa!

After very early in the morning having done all my usual domestic Sunday tasks I was able to find the time to do a little bit of bookbinding at home. I still can't believe that after a trip to the supermarket, chemist store and bakery, doing lunch and dinner plus taking care of Leonor and giving her a lot of cuddles I was able to do so much!

Já tinha o cartão cortado para estas duas caixas cubo, cujo workshop dei outro dia na 512 Ideias mas queria muito usar papel Japonês nelas por isso adorei o resultado final desta caixa preta e vermelha. Acho que até agora é a minha favorita.

All the card was already cut for these two cube boxes since I gave this workshop at 512 Ideias but I really wanted to use Japanese handmade paper on them. I love the result of this black and red box. I think it is my favorite so far.

Mas ainda tive tempo de fazer mais um livro (o outro já estava pronto) com papel marmoreado pintado à mão. Ainda tenho de melhorar as medidas nos cantos para ficarem exactamente iguais mas, e para minha grande surpresa, gostei muito deste último trabalho. O papel depois de aplicado ficou simplesmente maravilhoso. Estes livros foram presente para um amigo que espero não fique decepcionado!

And I still had time to make a book (one was already finished) with marbled hand painted paper. I still have to improve my technicque so the corners stay with the exact same measures but to my surprise, I really liked this last work. After I applied the paper to make the book it just gained a life of its own. These books were a gift for a friend who i hope won't stay disappointed!

Ainda bem que quarta-feira é feriado pois tenciono ter tempo para pegar nos meus suspenso projectos de costura. Afinal o Natal está quase aí à porta!

I am glad we have a bank holiday on Wednesday because I intend to have time to pick on my suspended patchwork projects. After all Christmas is almost here!
