The silence has been long but for a good reason! On the 29th we celebrated Leonor's Christening and Gonçalo's Communion. I spent several weeks preparing the party, imagining how the different spaces would look, gathering things here and there, a numerous amount of tasks!
The general photographs are not many because in the course of supervising a totally homemade sitting dinner for 80 people and making sure it went well, I wasn't very active with my camera.
In spite the (hard) work organizing this party was I had a really good time doing it. The appetizers were served by the pool where we had tables decorated with vases with flowers (no photos!) as well as paper flowers and honeycomb balls hanging from the trees (thank you Susana).
The dinner, served in the patio of our house was preceded by a stairway lit with candles (again no photos!). In the patio were 7 round tables lit by candles inside glass vases.
I am sure I will never forget all the small details of this day, in spite the absence of photographs, not only of the party but also of the celebration!
Remember these bags? Well, here they are prepared to be offered to the guests!
Cupcake para transformar a minha ideia em realidade!
When I decided to make the two celebrations on the same day, I knew that the cake would be a challenge! I wanted something really special and no one better than Francisca from Cupcake to transform my idea in reality!
The cake was surrounded by small cupcakes, his and hers, all made of chocolate and raspberry.
After dinner we had a dessert buffet, some of them made by friends, some made by me and some with a smell from Brasil (thank you Rita)!
Instead of a board with the table sitting for the guests, I made this decorative center. Each couple or person received a paper flower that indicated their table at dinner.
Procurei fazer de cada cantinho um lugar especial que fizesse justiça a este dia igualmente especial. Espero sinceramente ter conseguido!
I tried to make each corner special so it would make justice to this equal special day. I sincerely hope I made it!
Although I don't like to place personal photographs in this space, today I can't resist to show you my (big) family! As a mother I am proud of my children, of what they conquer each day, of the rocks that appear in their path that they overcome, of the nonsense's and learning's that life brings them. Most of all I hope I can be by their side and watch them grow so that the quote, as my Father said, that is written in the wall of our house becomes a reality: Family, a journey to forever.
