Baby's first layout

Todos os anos, no início do ano, dou um curso de scrapbooking na 512 Ideias. Por isso e ao começar a preparar o curso deste ano, realizei que ainda não tinha feito nenhum layout com fotografias da minha bébé. Desde que revelei as primeiras fotografias do seu nascimento que soube que esta era uma fotografia que iria servir de base a um layout.

Every year, in the begining of the year, I give a scrapbooking class at 512 Ideias. So as I started to prepare this year's classes, I realized that I still hadn't made a layout with photos of my little baby. Since I printed the photos from her first days I knew this would be a photo I would use for a layout.

Adoro esta fotografia: a mão grande do meu Pai a proteger a minha pequenina (e na altura pintalgada) bébé.

Os papéis que usei são da colecção Love Me da My Mind's Eye e não podiam ajudar mais a mostrar o carinho, amor e ternura que esta imagem transmite.

The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye collection Love Me and they couldn't be more appropriate to show the love, tenderness and care this image transmits.

Agora que está pronto e como todos os layouts que faço (e adoro) vai para a parede das escadas na nossa casa. A parede já está quase cheia, de imagens e de vida!

Now that it is ready and as all the layouts I make (and love) it will go to the stairs wall in our house. The wall is almost full, with images and life!

Felicidade :::Happiness

Começo por este post em atraso pois foi sem sobra de dúvidas o ponto alto da minha vida nos últimos tempos!
Quando eu casei, há 16 anos atrás (não, não é engano) os meus Pais e Sogros juntaram-se para fazer um vídeo da nossa vida desde o nascimento até esse dia. O filme terminava com uma fotografia de ambos (eu e o meu marido, claro) tirada um mês antes no casamento de uns amigos nossos e com a frase que dizia algo assim: "que a alegria, felicidade, serenidade e paz que esta imagem transmite, seja uma constante na vossa vida". Acho que estas imagens não ficam muito longe dessa mesma sensação de paz e felicidade.

I begin (recovering) with this post because this was without a shadow of a doubt  the highlight of my life lately.
When I got married 16 years ago (no, it is not a mistake) my parents and in-laws got together to make a video about our life, since we were born until that day more less. The video ended with a photo of us both (me and my husband, of course) taken at a friend's wedding a month earlier and a sentence that goes more less like this: "that the joy, happiness, serenity and peace that this image shows remains a constant part of your life". I think these photos are not far from that same sense of peace and happiness.

China in Portugal

Fruto do facto de ter uma família grande, ou melhor, enorme, as minhas celebrações familiares nunca têm menos de 70 pessoas!

Due to the fact that I have a big, well enormous really, family, my parties never have less then 70 people!

Nos anos do Gonçalo optei por usar uma linha de festa da Caspari que resoltou maravilhosamente! Uma mistura Chinesa num cenário bem Português.

At Gonçalo's birthday party I decided to use one of Caspari's lines that worked beautifully! A mix of Chinese in a very Portuguese setting.

Para facilitar a logística nestes dias, opto sempre por usar pratos de papel. E parecendo que não facilita e muito a vida na cozinha e faz uma mesa lindissima!

For these occasions I always choose paper plates. And though it may not seem that simple fact makes the kitchen life much easier and a gorgeous table!

Home made cookies

Desde cedo habituei os meus filhos a cozinharem comigo, especialmente as iguarias que eles mais gostam, como bolos e bolachas. E ao fim destes anos todos tornou-se num momento muito especial entre nós. O mais engraçado é que agora, para além de gostarem de fazer, gostam de partilhar o que fazem com os amigos!

From early days I have accustomed my children to cooking with me, especially those things they like the most, such as cakes and cookies. And after all these years these moments have become special for us. The funniest thing is that now, besides enjoying making these treats, they like to share what they do with their friends!

Por isso e como hoje era dia de piquenique para o Gonçalo, passamos o fim de tarde de ontem a fazer bolachas de chocolate caseiras. É sem dúvida uma das receitas favoritas da nossa casa e que se transformou na "multa" que os meus filhos mais gostam de levar.

So, as today Gonçalo had a picnic, we spent yesterday's afternoon baking homemade chocolate cookies. This is definitely one of the top 5 recipes in our house and it has become their favorite thing to take out.

Enchi uma lata de bolachas para o famoso piquenique que regressou com 4 pequenas migalhas! Fico orgulhosa de saber que eles apreciam os miminhos caseiros e que os preferem aos tradicionais donuts, batatas fritas e afins!

I filled a tin with cookies for the famous picnic that came back with 4 small crumbs! I feel proud to know that they appreciate the homemade treats we make and that they prefer them to the traditional donuts, french fries and others!
