Baby's first layout

Todos os anos, no início do ano, dou um curso de scrapbooking na 512 Ideias. Por isso e ao começar a preparar o curso deste ano, realizei que ainda não tinha feito nenhum layout com fotografias da minha bébé. Desde que revelei as primeiras fotografias do seu nascimento que soube que esta era uma fotografia que iria servir de base a um layout.

Every year, in the begining of the year, I give a scrapbooking class at 512 Ideias. So as I started to prepare this year's classes, I realized that I still hadn't made a layout with photos of my little baby. Since I printed the photos from her first days I knew this would be a photo I would use for a layout.

Adoro esta fotografia: a mão grande do meu Pai a proteger a minha pequenina (e na altura pintalgada) bébé.

Os papéis que usei são da colecção Love Me da My Mind's Eye e não podiam ajudar mais a mostrar o carinho, amor e ternura que esta imagem transmite.

The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye collection Love Me and they couldn't be more appropriate to show the love, tenderness and care this image transmits.

Agora que está pronto e como todos os layouts que faço (e adoro) vai para a parede das escadas na nossa casa. A parede já está quase cheia, de imagens e de vida!

Now that it is ready and as all the layouts I make (and love) it will go to the stairs wall in our house. The wall is almost full, with images and life!

Guimarães: Capital Europeia da Cultura 2012

Como todos (ou muitos) sabem, começaram oficialmente no passado dia 21 de Janeiro, as comemorações e eventos de Guimarães Capital Europeia da Cultura 2012. Ao passear pela cidade nesse dia e no dia seguinte, vemos-nos confrontados com a evidência que de facto a assinatura desta campanha é verdadeira: "Eu faço parte". E de facto assim é. A Cultura passou dos museus para as rua, das salas de concerto para as pastelarias, dos centros de formação para o cidadão comum. E por esse motivo, quando vamos a Guimarães sentimos de facto que também nós fazemos parte!

As everyone (or as many) know, the opening ceremony of Guimarães Capital of Culture in Europe took place on the 21st of January. After strolling up and the down the streets on that day and the day after we come across the evidence that in fact the sentence that is the signature of this campaign is true: "I have a part". And so it is. The cultural activities left the museums and concert halls, to come to the pastries and general shops in an amazing movement around this event. So for that reason when we travel to Guimarães now we feel that we as well are part of this event!

Por esse mesmo motivo e em honra dos imensos lojistas do comércio tradicional em Guimarães, aqui ficam algumas (ok, muitas) imagens dos corações, o símbolo desta campanha, decorados por cada uma das lojas onde estão.

For that same reason and in honor of the several retailers on the streets of Guimarães, here are some of the images (ok, a lot) of the hearts, the symbol for this campaign, decorated by each of the stores where they were at.

 A Gil Doce e a Gil Vicente são sem sombra de dúvida as melhores confeitarias na cidade. Gil Doce and Gil Vicente are two of the best pastry shops in town.

Londres: Dezembro parte 2 ::: London: December part 2

Desde que me conheço, ou melhor, que me lembro ser gente, senti que tinha de facto herdado da minha Avó paterna uma costela inglesa. Não sei se é por isso que Londres sempre me encantou ou se é o facto de o inglês ser para mim quase uma primeira língua. a verdade é que Londres sempre foi (e continua a ser) a minha cidade de eleição. Já pedi a conta ao número de vezes que lá fui: desde passeio, trabalho, visita a familiares ou puro turismo, muitas são as razões que me levaram a esta terra de Sua Majestade.

Since I have known myself, or better said, since I remember being someone, I have felt that I have in fact inherited my grandmother's English bone. I don't know if that is the reason why London has always fascinated me or if it the fact that English is for me almost like a first language, but the fact is that London has always been (and still is) my favorite city. I have lost count of how many times I have been there: sightseeing, working, visiting relatives or plain fun, many have been the reasons that brought me to this Her Majesty's land.

É difícil definir exactamente o que me atrai: se as montras cuidadosamente arranjadas, se o descobrir de produtos ainda raros ou inexistentes em Portugal, se a descoberta de algum edíficio ou recanto novo de cada vez que volto a este cidade. Mas a verdade é que o fascínio se mantém.

I find it really difficult to define what it is about this city that attracts me: the marvelously arranged window displays, the finding of new products still rare or unavailable in Portugal, the discovery of a new building or corner yet unknown each time I go back to this city. But the truth is that I am still fascinated.

Apesar de todos os lugares novos que descubro em cada visita, há locais a que nunca deixo de ir: John Lewis, Selfridges, Tikki, Cath Kidston, Liberty, King's Road, Banana Republic e muito, muito mais! Espero descobrir tantos novos locais encantadores como desta minha última visita! E se nunca foi a Londres tente fazer uma visita em breve e descubra o que se esconde por detrás do nevoeiro desta cidade.

Inspite of all the new places I find with each visit, there are places I always go too: John Lewis, Selfridges, Tikki, Cath Kidston, Liberty, King's Road, banana republic and many, many more! I hope that on my next visit I will find as many enchanting places as I did this time! And if you have never been to London try to pay it a visit and discover what hides behind the fog of this city.

De volta ao scrapbooking ::: Back to Scrapbooking

Há algum tempo que não me dedicava a projectos de scrapbooking puros. E o curioso é que depois de deitar mãos á obra, percebi o quanto sentia falta desta arte. Desenvolvi este gatefold mini álbum para um workshop que dei na 512 Ideias e queria partilhar com vocês todos os pormenores do interior. Acho que ficou muito suave e estou ansiosa por ter uns minutos livres para o preencher com fotografias que completem esta obra! Assim sendo, aqui fica uma homenagem aos meus amigos!

It has been a while since I dedicated myself to "pure" scrapbook projects. And the funny thing is that after I started I realized how much I missed doing it. I developed this gatefold mini album for a workshop I gave at 512 Ideias and I wanted to share with you all the details on the inside of it. I believe it turned out really nice and I can't wait to have a spare time to fill it with the photos that will for sure complete this masterpiece! That said, here is a tribute to My Friends!

 Great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and hard to forget.
