How time goes by......

Parece que foi ontem que a minha filha nasceu e no entanto, sem darmos por isso, um ano passou. Mas uma vinda assim tão especial e doce tinha de ser comemorada. Com uma festa muito especial. Especial pelo carinho, pelos pormenores, pela família e amigos presentes, pela generosidade e amor daqueles que com ela passam o dia a dia mas especialmente porque esta princesa veio inesperadamente completar a nossa família. Parabéns Leonor!

It seems that it was yesterday that my daughter was born and yet, without us noticing, a year has gone by. But such a special and sweet arrival had to me celebrated. With a very special party. Special because of the tenderness, the details, the family and friends present, for the generosity and love of those that every day spend time with her but specially because this princess completed our family. Happy birthday Leonor!

Quando comecei a trabalhar com a colecção Little Darlings da Graphic45, decidi que tinha de a usar para fazer a decoração da festa da Leonor. O tema: Vintage Baby Girl e as cores: rosa, coral, branco e creme. Esta era a mesa da entrada com alguns dos tesourinhos deprimentes que tinha cá em casa e as lembranças feitas para este dia. A decoração ficava completa com a casinha de bonecas que construí.

When I started working with Little Darlings paper line from Graphic45 I decided that I had to use it to make the decorations for Leonor's birthday party. The theme: Vintage baby girl and the colors: pink, coral, white and cream. This was the table setting in the lobby with some of the hidden treasures I had at home plus the sweet gifts for the guests. The decor was completed with the doll house I made for her.

Adoro esta mistura de rosas e peónias colocadas em bules, terrinas e açucareiros. Como sempre o Filipe da Alecrim fez um excelente trabalho!

I love this mix of peonies and roses placed in tea pots, soup terrines and sugar bowls. As usual Filipe from Alecrim did an amazing job!

E depois veio a mesa do bolo.... A Francisca da Cupcake transformou em bolo e açúcar tudo o que eu tinha imaginado e pedido e ainda mais! Ficou lindo e estes cake pops colocados numas terrinas miniatura além de lindos eram deliciosos. E o bolo....sem palavras!

And then the cake table came.....Francisca from Cupcake transformed my thoughts and words into sugar and cake. It was everything I asked for and more! It was absolutely beautiful and the cake pops placed in the small bowls were delicious. And the cake.....no words to describe it!

A mesa das sobremesas ::: The desert table

Decidi fazer esta tela com as fotografias que fui tirando ao longo do ano, de cada vez que ela completava um mês. A tela mede 50x70 cm e ficou linda! Como se pode ver, a Leonor é mesmo bem disposta.

I decided to make this canvas using the photos that I took over the year every time she completed a month. It measures 50x70 cm and it is beautiful! As you can see Leonor is really a happy baby.

As fotografias foram também usadas para fazer um pequeno livrinho para dar aos avós, tios e padrinhos.

The photos were also used to make a small book to give to grandparents, uncles and godparents,

Acho que ela gostou da festa, o que para mim foi a melhor recompensa possível. Parabéns minha filha!

I think she really liked the party which for me was the best reward possible! Happy birthday daughter!

Sweet gift

A semana passada recebi este presente no correio! Os chocolates já foram! Eram simplesmente deliciosos. Estou ansiosa por experimentar o chocolate quente. Muchas gracias Paula!

Last week I received this gift by mail! The chocolate's have gone! They were simply delicious. I can't wait to try the hot chocolate. Muchas gracias Paula.

Uma Primeira Comunhão ::: A first Communion

O tempo passa realmente muito depressa e o meu filho rapaz mais novo já tem 8 anos. E claro, já é crescido o suficiente para fazer a sua Primeira Comunhão.

Time really flies fast and my youngest boy is now 8. And of course that he is now old enough to do his First Communion.

Toda a decoração da festa partiu a partir do desenho do "Santinho" que o Filipe escolheu para este dia! Foi feito especialmente para ele e ficou lindo!

The decoration for the party was decided after Filipe choose his "Saint" for this day! It was specially made for him and it turned out beautiful!

The red velvet cake with Filipe followed by his guardian angel, just like the image he choose, was made by Mariana.

Foi em Dezembro, na loja da M&M's em Londres, que resolvi trazer estes famosos doces em vários tons de azul! Vá lá que acertei num deles!

It was in December, at the M&M's store in London, that I decided to buy several shades of blue of these sweets! I am glad one of them was the right color!

Estas "fortune cookies" já viajaram muito! Vieram na minha mala de São Francisco já a pensar neste dia! Juntamente com as forminhas de flor que a Maristela me trouxe deram o toque final a esta mesa!

These fortune cookies have traveled a lot! They came in my bag from San Francisco for this occasion. Added to the fabric flowers Maristela gave me, they made the finishing touch for this table!

Madrid

Na minha última visita a Madrid esqueci-me de levar a máquina fotográfica e fiquei por isso reduzida à qualidade fotográfica do meu Blackberry. O dia estava quente mas com uma luz linda para capturar a imponente mas bela arquitectura desta cidade.

On my last trip to Madrid I forgot to take my Photo machine with me so I ended up reduced to the photographic quality of my Blackberry. The day was hot but with an amazing light to capture the auster but beautiful architecture of this city.

 La Movida

Num cantinho de uma rua descobri esta bicicleta com este convite à entrada. Não resisti em espreitar. Lá dentro, num jardim que mais parecia um conto da fadas havia um pequeno café e algumas lojas de roupa. Só pelo deslumbre do local valer a pena!

In a coner of a street I found this bycicle with this welcome invitation. i could not resist and decided to take a pick. Inside, in a garden that looks more like a fairy tale, there is a small coffee shop and some stores. Just for the wonder of the place it deserves a visit!

O meu hotel preferido em Madrid chama-se Dormirdcine. Já lá fiquei várias vezes e sempre em quartos diferentes. Desta vez calhou-me o Violino vermelho. É um hotel muito divertido e com preços muito acessíveis para um quatro estrelas em Madrid!

My favourite hotel in Madrid is called Dormirdcine. I have stayed there several times already and always in different rooms. This one was called the Red Violin. It is a very fun hotel with good prices for a 4 star in Madrid!

Mobília da casinha de bonecas :: Doll house Furniture

Confesso que nunca pensei que, depois de construir a Casinha de Bonecas, mobilá-la iria tornar-se uma verdadeira paixão! Mas para condizer com o design vintage da mesma, achei que o ideal seria apostar em peças antigas por isso de vez em quando vou para o e-bay à procura de uma boa pechincha!
I admit that I never thought that, after building the Doll House, I would become in love with furniture, tiny size! But in order for it to go with the Vintage design of the house, I decided that the best thing to do was to go with old/vintage stuff too and there is no better place to find them then e-bay!

Até agora já comprei os móveis da cozinha e do quarto do bebé que fica no sótão! A cozinha tem também um pequeno relógio!
So far I have bought the furniture for the kitchen and for the baby room in the attic. The kitchen also has a small pretend watch!

 A sala de jantar para já só tem 4 cadeiras a precisarem de ser estofadas para combinarem com o resto da casa mas aos poucos chegaremos lá!
The dining room so far only has 4 chairs in need of re-styling so they match the rest of the house but we will get there slowly!

Ainda há muito para mobilar e fazer o que é muito bom pois a Leonor vai gostar muito de rechear a casa comigo!
There is still a lot to be done which is good because I am sure Leonor will really appreciate filling the house with me!
