Sampler Quilt III

Aqui está a manta, pronta a receber a barra lateral. Inicialmente tinha pensado fazer esta barra com 6" mas decidi diminuir um pouco. Acho que ficará mais equilibrada. Depois da barra lateral só falta...um milhão de coisas para terminar a manta! Espero conseguir acabá-la até ao verão para a poder oferecer a duas pessoas muito especiais!

Here is the quilt ready to receive the outer border. Initially I had thought about making this border 5" large but I decided to make it a little smaller. I believe it will stay more balanced that way. After that I only have to do....one million things to finish it!. I hope I can make it until the end of July so I can offer it to two very special people in my life!

Sampler quilt II

Não gosto de faltar às minhas promessas e por isso aqui ficam mais umas fotografias da minha manta: os blocos estão todos unidos com o tecido de sashing e agora é preciso unir as tiras umas às outras. Amanhã cá estarão os blocos todos unidos! Prometo!

I don't like to fail a promise so here are the photos of my sampler quilt at the moment. All the blocks have been joined together with the sashing fabric and now I have to join the rows to each other. Tomorrow all the blocks will be joined! Promise!

Sampler Quilt

Este ano e como trabalho final das minhas aulas de Patchwork, lancei o desafio às alunas de realizarmos uma Sampler Quilt: uma manta com blocos todos diferentes. Os meus blocos estão prontos e graças às tecnologias modernas aqui estão eles alinhados no chão da minha sala à espera de serem unidos e transformados numa linda manta!
This year and as the final work of my patchwork class, I launched them the challenge of making a Sampler quilt: a quilt made with blocks that are all different from each other. My blocks are ready and thanks to the modern technologies here they are, displayed on the floor of my living room, waiting to be sewn together and transformed into a beautiful quilt!
