Adoro o desabrochar das flores do campo na Primavera: simbolizam especialmente a promessa dos frutos de Verão. Só falta aqui a minha preferida que ainda não consegui fotografar mas que já descobri num cantinho do monte: as deliciosamente cheirosas pão com queijo!

I love when spring flowers blossom: they simbolize the promise of summer fruits. The only flower missing here is my favourite: I wasn't able to take a photo of it yet but that I have found her hidden in a little corner of the valley: the sweet scented bread with cheese!

Alfazema...

 Esta é uma das minhas alturas do ano predilectas, quando a alfazema floresce e está pronta a ser apanhada e posta a secar.

This is one of my favourite time of the year when lavender blooms and it is ready to be picked and dried.

No nosso cantinho especial há vários tipos de alfazema diferentes, que concerteza têm nomes científicos pomposos mas para mim o que importa mesmo é vê-las e cheirá-las!

In our special corner in the country there are several different lavender types, which I am sure have pompous names but for me smelling and seeing them is quite enough!

Não resisti a apanhar alguma alfazema e pô-la a secar. De todas, esta variedade é a que tem a cor e o cheiro mais intenso!

I couldn't resist picking up a bunch of Lavender and put it to dry. From all the different types this one has the most vibrant color and the more intense smell!

Em breve irei rechear saquinhos feitos à mão com esta alfazema! Adoro passar uma tarde de verão entretida a prepará-los e a pensar a quem os vou oferecer! Prometo mostrar os saquinhos feitos daqui a algum tempo...

Soon I will fill handmade bags with this Lavender! I love spending a summer afternoon preparing them and wondering who will I give them to. I promise to show them when they are ready....
